Neurodivergent
Grounding Spread
Five card positions for ADHD and autistic practitioners. No journaling required, no right answers. Just a spread that meets your nervous system where it actually is.
Most tarot spreads assume a regulated nervous system. This one doesn't. Each position is sized for a brain that moves fast, gets stuck, or shuts down. You can pull a single card and go, or sit with all five when you have the capacity. It works whether you're mid-meltdown or just quietly overwhelmed. Warm, direct, and clinical-assumption-free.
The five positions
The Body Check
Where are you right now, physically?
This card reflects the state of your nervous system in this moment. Look for imagery of stillness, tension, movement, or sensation. If the card feels overwhelming, that's information too.
The Noise
What's loud in your head right now?
This position names the intrusive thoughts, the looping plans, or the sensory static you arrived with. A chaotic card here isn't bad. It's honest, and honesty is where grounding begins.
The Anchor
What do you have right now that feels stable?
Even in dysregulation, something holds. Look for a figure, a symbol, or an element in the card that feels grounded. This is your tether for the rest of the reading.
The Need
What does your nervous system actually need?
Not what you think you should need. Not what's productive. The card here points to the real ask: rest, movement, connection, solitude, or something harder to name. Sit with it without judgment.
The Exhale
What can you release without trying to fix it?
This final card isn't about solving. It's about setting something down. Look for imagery of endings, open hands, water, or sky. Whatever this card points to, you don't have to carry it through the rest of your day.
